OUR TALE

Marraskirjat, or Books of the Darkened Omens is a modern publishing company that operates from Finland. Our focus of expertise contains different modes of believing and seeing the world, folklore and the voice of the people of the past. At the moment we are publishing books about Northern Ethnography, Finnish Folk Religion, Viking Sagas and some reconstructed folktales. All of our authors are academically trained in their fields of substance.

We have specialized primarily in e-books, as we aim to fulfill the needs of common day customers with the possibilities opened by modern technology. In our vision, the products of high demand meet the readers effortlessly, quickly and by a truly reasonable price. Of course, we do have those more traditional printed versions for some of our books. They have been created in co-operation with the Amazon KDP.

We are non-aligned in terms of both political and religious worldviews. We are not controlled or manipulated by any monstrous bureucracies, nor by any fierce and emotionally driven ideologies or the common-day science-political cliques. What we stand for are good civilized manners and true multivocal humanism.
